Truckee Orienteering

A racing and training club for orienteering - on foot, mtb, skis, or in adventure races.

Wintertime is for ski-o! We'll have four ski-o races around Truckee, and possibly some skinny-trail training days if the weather cooperates.

2018 brings the seventh summer training season for Truckee. Starting around June, we'll have a different training course set up each week: 30-60 minutes depending on the course. Checkpoints will be little pin flags or mini-controls, sometimes with sportident punching and sometimes just flags. Interval starts, 6pm.

Cost is $20 for the summer season, for any number of trainings, to cover printing and ink costs for the maps.

Information for each weeks training usually goes out by email a few days before. Registration is by lunch time each event day - just send me an email that says you're coming, so I know how many maps to print. If I don't hear from you, I probably won't have a map for you.

September 8 (Saturday) - Middle Race at Boreal +
September 9 (Sunday) - Nav-X 3/6 hr map trek on Donner Summit

This year's Truckee/Nav-X Tahoe weekend is happening up high on Donner Summit. On Saturday Truckee Orienteering is hosting point-to-point races on the Boreal map, starting from Auburn Ski Club. This will be Tahoe forest that you've never seen before! Open rock and cliffs, hillside marshes, and great views.

On Sunday, Nav-X is hosting a 3/6 hour map trek on a combined Boreal / Donner Ski Ranch / Castle Peak map - 50+ checkpoints! Lots more info on the Nav-X Challenge website.

Registration for both Saturday and Sunday is available online at the Nav-X website. Day of Event registration is available for each day at check-in, though it is cash only. Day of fees are $20 per person, adult or junior.

July 12 (Thurs) - Boreal

Middle courses at Boreal, starting from the PCT trailhead. Starts at 6pm.

June 18 (Mon) - Tahoe Donner

Sprint courses at Tahoe Donner, starting from the XC area parking lot. Starts at 6pm.

June 6 (Wed)- Donner Lake

Sprint courses at Donner Lake, starting from the China Cove parking lot. Starts at 6pm.
